The Village Blacksmith (1842)

by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)

recited by Patricia Cummings

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow portrait

This poem was one of my father's favorite poems in a collection of Longfellow's work, in his library. Luckily, it is shorter than many of his other poems, yet it is rife with meaning. I hope that you enjoy my spoken rendition.
