Straight Talk About Quilt Care II: Display, Cleaning and Storage of New and Antique Quilts and Needlework brings together never-before-published-photos of textiles and quilts in a must-have reference book for quilters, embroiderers, or anyone who is interested in preserving their family textiles. This e-book affords us the luxury of expansion and a way to offer larger color photos than the original printed edition published in 2005. It is greatly expanded, re-formatted and features additional chapters and photos.
This is the perfect gift to accompany any quilt given for any special occasion. Take the guesswork out of caring for your own quilts, needlework, and textiles! This is a wonderful addition to any guild, museum, or local public library, as well as your own resource library.
This pdf document is easily read on any computer that has Adobe Reader installed (a free download).
The book has some very pleasant and sometimes amusing surprises, as well as comprehensive information about a wide array of textile care topics. We hope you have as much fun reading this "labor of love," as we did putting it all together. There is no comparable book on the market.
Think about purchasing a copy for yourself and perhaps one for a friend, your guild, your local library or historical society.

Straight Talk About Quilt Care II, an e-book on CD
Patricia Cummings has just revised her book, Straight Talk About Quilt Care (originally available in print form in 2005). There are only a few books on this subject but this is one of the best! She has updated the information and research resources in what was already a valuable and one of the most complete guides for quilt care and restoration. The book now has 124 pages.
Pat focuses not only on quilts, but also other textiles (of both natural and man-made fibers) with some practical techniques to gently clean and properly store your treasured quilts interspersed with a few humorous stories to get points across.
There is an interview with a quilt restorer, with beforeand after pictures of damaged quilts. The colored “tips” boxes highlight pertinent information. The data in the document can be quickly searched by simply typing in a keyword in 'Find’ in the Toolbar and the Table of Contents is linked to the corresponding chapters. Whether you are interested in repairing quilts or simply want to learn more about the quilts you have, this e-book is perfect for your library.
