Kris Driessen founded the Quilt History list, an online list serve for those interested in discussing quilt history. In July 2002, John and Kris Driessen lost their two story log cabin home to fire.
[In the ensuing months, two quilts were made for the Driessens' new home. I contributed a quilt block to each of them. One of those quilts was a Chimney Sweep Friendship Quilt, finished on December 10, 2004. A photo of the quilt can be viewed at: http://www.threshpublications.com/kris.html

Material Facts magazine (Australia) - twice re-published articles from our website in 2006, 2007.
NeedleArts, the magazine of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, ran a ten page article about the "secret quilt code."
A newspaper in Sherbrooke, Canada, republished a story about our visit to a quilt show there.
The $100,000 Quilting Challenge magazine (2007).
The Citizen's Companion, a living history/Civil War magazine tailored to civilian re-enactors, published "Gunboat Quilts" in their June/July 2007 issue, pages 25-28, along with photos of Civil War Era quilts, not Gunboat Quilts, provided by Barbara Brackman).
An Op-Ed. article re: the Immigration Rally in Manchester, that Patricia wrote, was published in the New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper. (2006)
An interview with Pat was published in Needle News: A Publication for Book Loving Needlework Enthusiasts, Volume 10, Issue 2, Summer 2007, 6-7, and one of Pat's book reviews appears on page 11.
Pat's writings and Jim's photos were published in articles prepared for The Appliqué Society Newsletter.
In addition, we have served as consultants to others who are engaged in writing books, newspaper and magazine articles, and/or scholarly papers.
Our advice was sought for a DAR publication titled, "Home and Country," and for a booklet about feedsack cloth, written by Darlene Zimmerman.
"An American Quilt Myth? The Secret Code of the Underground Railroad" by Patricia L. Cummings, (NJ: All-American Crafts Publishing, Inc.: The Quilter magazine, September 2004), 72-75, was cited as a reference on page 409 of the book, Encyclopedia of Slave Resistance and Rebellion by Junius P. Rodriguez, published in 2006.
We are frequently contacted for use of Jim's photo images, some of which have appeared on other history sites, online, and in a number of books, including Vintage Fabrics by Joan Kiplinger.
One of Jim's photos was published in a book titled, Quilting for Embroiderers, by Country Bumpkins in Australia, (May 2008). Another of Jim's photos was published in a textbook by produced by Bob Jones University in Spring 2010.
An article about C.C.C. Mother pillows and the C.C.C. in New Hampshire was written by Patricia Cummings, with photos by James Cummings, and was published in the May/June 2009 issue of C.C.C. Legacy, a group that honors the work of the 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps.
