Silk ribbon quilt block-the lyre

Lyre Block

This particular block, the lyre, is a motif seen on historic Baltimore Album quilts. In one instance, a dying pharmaceutical magnate, signed a Lyre block for a quilt that came to be known as the "Death Watch" quilt because it was worked on by his bedside. These blocks are also from Miniature Baltimore Album Quilts by Jenifer Buechel

Basket of Flowers

The little ceramic type button adds so much to this spray of silk ribbon flowers.  This photo concludes the set of images of blocks that I personally made for the raffle quilt. Jenifer was most gracious to grant us use of her designs and the finished quilt yielded almost $2,200. for the hospital.
