Home of The Brave

by Patricia Cummings

Jim Cummings and I are proud to have been first in preparing step by step directions for this quilt block, and in supporting the program, begun by Don Beld, in many other ways, including writing information about the Home of the Brave project that was published in The Quilter magazine. We have also made quilt blocks, as well as finishing one quilt top created by another individual.

At this point in time, countless people have downloaded that particular file for making a block. This has been a tremendous outpouring of effort and concern by quilters to reach out to family members who have lost a loved one.

We support our troops, and the grieving family members who have lost someone in the War on Terror. However, we do wish that the war in Iraq would end, and that our American soldiers would come home, safe and sound, and be out of harm's way.

Charitable Quilts to Families of the Fallen

Directions for making a quilt block like the one above appear on this page: Home of the Brave Quilt Project. If you can  make even one quilt block to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Finished quilts made by volunteers are given to families who have lost a military member in Iraq or Afghanistan. Thank you.

For any questions, please contact: Donald Beld, founder of the program: donbeld@pacbell.net
