Rain, at this time of year, is useless. It is like a lady with too many bonnets and she can only wear one at a time. In other words, it is superfluous. Tonight, we are under a flood watch. It has rained for two days straight and there is no sign of its letting up. At least we don’t have to shovel it. Other places are getting snow which is, of course, nicer to view.

There are always these precautions issued by the Weather Bureau: Don’t try to cross a flooded road in your car, and don’t try to cross a raging stream, on foot. If your car happens to be sliding off the road or off a bridge, it is a good idea to immediately roll down your window, unfasten your seat belt, and unlock the car door.

I hope you can swim. Everyone should know how to swim. For me, learning to swim at age 18 was mind over matter. I had to do it or risk not passing the minimal physical education requirement to graduate from the university. Too bad they have since done away with that requirement.

If I were “gruntled” tonight, I would feel a lot better. Alas, I am “disgruntled.” Stupid, mean, hateful people always put me in a bad mood. People come up with the lamest excuses sometimes. You’d think I was born yesterday and perhaps, I’d also like to purchase some oceanside property in Arizona. Actually, I hate Arizona. It is too hot and it holds a lot of crummy memories for me. I lived there for a year. Had a car that mostly didn’t run, was stuck at home with a baby, little money or food, and it was hot, hot, hot. I was extremely allergic to Oleander bushes and they formed the “fence” around the backyard.

The one strange moment I do remember is that we had a male streaker at church one Sunday. He ran in a side door in the birthday suit God gave him, ran up and down the center aisle, and out the other side door, so we all got the full Monty. Erma Bombeck was a member of that church. I’ve always wondered if she was present at that particular 11:00 a.m. service.

The good news is: I am writing another book and having a great time of it! I love creating publications and I suppose I am not going to quit anytime soon, even if the nitwit younglings of today have no appreciation of my work. My topics are unique, special, and they are fulfilling topics of research … to me. I only have to please myself, in the long run, even if no one gives a hoot about me. To be honest, I write for a select group of like-minded individuals who care about scholarship and the truth. Amazingly, I’ve found over time that scholarship and truth buy viagra generic online cheap go hand in hand: a revelation.

The sun will come out another day. Today, I’m at ground zero.

P.S. I recently learned that “Full Monty” is a textile term that originally referred to men’s suits from Montevideo. Strange connection, eh? to no clothes at all.
