Banks of the Ohio

as played by John E. Grace, accompanied by his daughter, "Patty" (at age 16), on the guitar (1960s). This is an example of a feeble attempt of my father and I to play music together, but it is one of the few cassette recordings I have of such an occurrence.

Hear an updated version of the song played by Pat in 2007

Traditional folk song

I asked my love to talk a walk
to take a walk, just a little way
Down beside where the waters flow
Down by the banks, of the Ohio.

And, only say, that you'll be mine
And in no other arms entwine
Down beside where the waters flow
Down by the banks of the Ohio.
