Index

The Baltimore Album style of quilting originated in the mid-nineteenth century. Today, we are still learning about this quilt trend, and the women who created these classic quilts.

IN OTHER NEWS:

You may catch a glimpse of other Baltimore Album quilts in other areas of this website.

Uncoverings 2006, a publication of the American Quilt Study Group reveals new research on quilts made by Jewish women in Baltimore. Previously, it was believed that Methodist and Reform Church members were responsible for these types of early quilts. Please see http://www.americanquiltstudygroup.org

Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, June 2006, (pages 44-46) features some recently made quilts inspired by the Baltimore Album style. One made by Jaydee C. Price of Sequim, Washington, is a gift to President George W. Bush, and will be displayed at his future presidential library. "Bluebell" flowers and cowboys boots are among the quilt's unique border features.
