Art Quilts With Words
In 2010, I asked quilt artists to send me photos and descriptions of art quilts they had made that feature words. I was sent many examples and they are spread out over a number of files. I have set up this page to list the links to those files. I hope you enjoy their work as much as I do.
This is my "art quilt" with the words "Liberty is Our Motto." I was experimenting with Shiva paint sticks, inking, holographic paper, printing on fabric and machine surface embroidery when I converted a traditional, hand pieced Whig's Defeat quilt block into a wall quilt that focuses on abolition, temperance and suffrage: 19th century social issues.
