Sue Reich owns a very special item, a colorful "quilt" that consists of pillow tops sewn together. In this file, you will see a photo of the whole quilt, and you will also see four close-ups of the quilt pillow "blocks" themselves. We thank sue for having taken these special photos for you to enjoy.

The above quilt top has a sentimental poem.
Mother
Oft times when skies were gray
You turned them back to blue.
Thats why my thoughts to-day,
Turn back my dear to you.
"Tennesse Maneuvers" is the name seen on the "Mother" Pillow Top above.

Mother
There is a certain lovely Mother
Who is loyal, sweet and true -
One whose love and understanding
Does what nothing else could do
In providing smiles and comfort.
Everything in life that's fine
She's a darling, and I love her -
And I'm mighty glad she's MINE!

We have seen this poem on other WWII pillow tops. It may have been a favorite one. photo courtesy of sue reich.
We hope that you have enjoyed seeing this unusual textile. Many thanks to sue reich for taking the photos and for always being so willing to share with others.
